  BOOK-ALBUM “Kantele. Rhythms of fortune”

The book-album that was published in 2004 presents the 70-year history of the Kantele ensemble, ways of its development and creative quest. Starting a small amateur group in the 1930s and coming to the modern “Kantele House” – that’s the way of our big Staff narrates with love

and illustrated in the book. The inspired faces of ensemble members of the past and present centuries, the scripts of costumes, posters, the photos of Petrozavodsk – it seems that history itself talks with a reader from the pages of that book-album. For such a chronicle scrutiny of a huge number of facts, talks with the artists of different periods, the thorough selection of photo documents have been required. There is no doubt that the book became a priceless present to our veterans for the 60th anniversary of the World War 2. The most penetrating words of the book are devoted to them, to their front-line roads and war performances!

The book-album tells us about the present state of the ensemble that had become “younger” and got the second wind since Lilia Stepanova (Director) came. The book reproduces the present life of the ensemble, full of events and projects – grants, our own workshops, studios, departments, cooperation with artists and composers, our serious plans for the future...

The book-album “Kantele. Rhythms of fortune” – the Concourse “The book of the year - 2004” prize-winner (the first premium as “The best printing performance” and the third premium as “The best publication of art”.
